Growing up in Colorado was a great experience for me, especially during my high school years. However, I faced some challenges when it came time to apply for college. I started the process late and had no one to guide me. Despite being a State Champion basketball player and receiving offers from various colleges, I lacked purposeful direction. As a first-generation student, it would have been extremely beneficial to have an educational consultant help me through the process. Nonetheless, I problem-solved through the athletic recruitment and college process and chose to attend Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. Being a collegiate athlete at a prestigious women's college, an achievement I am proud of.

With 20+ years of experience as a school counselor in both urban and suburban communities, I have gained a deep understanding of the importance of building positive, trustworthy relationships with teenagers. My unwavering commitment to making them feel heard, seen, and valued during this crucial stage of their lives has earned me a reputation as a trusted advocate. As the founder of WayForward College Consulting, LLC, I am proud to offer my expertise to families to alleviate the stress of the college application process and provide the support they deserve. My mission is to build bonds between parents and children and foster opportunities for growth for all during this transformational stage of life.

As my family and I travel, we take every opportunity to visit various colleges. It has been an enlightening experience as we have discovered the distinctive features of each campus and identified which would be most suitable for my children and for my own professional development. I relish exploring these institutions, interacting with new people, and asking questions about areas not covered in the typical tour. This has led to some thrilling encounters, and I am happy to offer advice on how to achieve the same.
